The BLDE Association’s AS Patil College of Commerce (ASP) in Bijapur commenced with just 63 students; however, it has expanded significantly—similar to a vast banyan tree—and now boasts approximately 1200 students who are pursuing their education within this esteemed institution. ASP has a rich tradition, having served the community for 48 years. This longevity has fostered a higher degree of credibility and trust from the society at large, but especially among the students. Although challenges exist, the college continues to thrive because of its commitment to excellence in education.
Established in 1961, AS Patil College of Commerce, located in Vijayapur, stands as one of the recognized institutions for higher education in the state of Karnataka, India. Run and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), this affiliated college offers a diverse array of courses in commerce and management. Spanning an area of 11 acres, the institution boasts a total enrollment of 1,315 students and a faculty comprising 26 members. It provides six degree programs, incorporating both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce, business administration and computer applications.
The college possesses a library facility designed for all students (a vital hub, if you will) that serves as the nerve center for both teaching and learning activities. The administration has undertaken the initiative to encourage students to fully utilize the resources available—this is essential for fostering reading habits, conducting research and promoting the holistic development of students, ultimately shaping them into responsible citizens in the emerging knowledge society.
