About Ishan Uday Scholarship
Promoting higher education in the NER is particularly significant to the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of HRD. The UGC has decided to start the Ishan Uday Special Scholarship for North Eastern area from academic session 2014-15 to improve the GER, promote higher education, and encourage youngsters from the NE area's economically underprivileged portion. The Ministry of HRD, the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region, the North Eastern Council, Shillong, State Governments, Central and State Universities, and other stakeholders were all consulted extensively by the UGC before the scheme's inception.
The scholarship program awards up to ₹7,800 per month to the recipients until they complete their degree program each year.
Under the Ishan Uday scholarship program, 10,000 new scholarships are given out to NER students each year enrolled in general degree programs, technical programs, and professional programs, including paramedical and medical courses.

Ishan Uday Scholarship Eligibility
- The applicant needs to be a NER resident.
- The applicant's parents' combined annual income should not exceed more than ₹4,50,000.
- The applicant must have passed Class 12th or its equivalent in the previous academic year for applications called for the current year.
- The candidate must have been admitted to the first year of a degree program, whether a general degree program.
- Only general degree programs and technical and professional courses, including medical and paramedical courses approved by the Registrar, Principal, or Director of the University, College, or Institute at any of the following universities, colleges, or institutes, are eligible for the scholarship.
- UGC Act Sections 2(f) and 12(B) cover colleges, universities, and other institutions.
- Regarded as universities eligible to receive UGC grants-in-aid and covered under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
- Universities/Institutions/Colleges supported by Central / State Government.
- Nationally Significant Institutes.
- Organizations acknowledged by both internal and external Statutory Councils.
- The AISHE code should be used while applying to the university, institution, or college.
The Application Process for Ishan Uday

Ishan Uday Scholarship Apply Online
- First, the new applicants must correctly fill out the NSP Portal's registration form as new users.
- When completing the registration form, candidates must include information about their educational background, Aadhaar number, school or college enrollment number, bank information, and state of domicile.
- The state of residence of the applicants determines the application ID. Additionally, this application ID serves as the "Login ID" for the NSP Portal and any upcoming references.
- It is necessary to carefully fill out information such as the candidate's name, date of birth, email address, identity data, and mobile number.
- The candidate receives an OTP after completing the registration form, which they must use to log in and complete the scholarship application. Applicants need to fill out the application and upload all required files.
Kindly Note :
- The Government of India's National e-Scholarship Portal will solicit applications once a year. Additionally, a brief notice should posted on the UGC website.
- The relevant University, Institution, or College will categorize the course as a professional or general degree at the time of application.
- The committee will summarily accept incomplete applications. They will only consider verified online applications for the scholarship.

Selection Process Of Ishan Uday

Renewals of Ishan Uday

- The scholarship would not be given to the students who did not advance to the next class or level.
- The scholarship forbids a change in the study program. The awardee will lose the scholarship when changing the student's course of study.
- The UGC will oversee and administer the scheme. Previous year's awardees will continue to get support from the UGC pattern through Canara Bank's approved bank branches.
Ishan Uday Scholarship Amount
Every year, 10,000 scholarships of up to ₹7,800 per month must awarded to eligible students under the Ishan Uday scholarship for NER. The chosen candidates have the scholarship money deposited into bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer method. Each North Eastern State is given a certain amount of scholarships based on its population (as reported in the most recent Census report). - Until the studies are completed, general degree students can receive a subsidy worth ₹5,400 monthly.
- Selected students pursuing technical, medical, professional, or paramedical courses receive a monthly subsidy of ₹7,800.
Exclusions
The following will not qualify for this program.
- Students enlisted in programs or courses offered by Open Universities.
- Students enrolled in undergraduate programs are already receiving scholarships through another program.
- Admission of students by "management quota."
- Students enroll in programs like diploma courses that do not lead to the awarding of a degree.
- Students enrolled in courses, including diploma programs, that do not result in degree awards and whose parents' annual income exceeds Rs. 4.5 lakh.
Slots
Every year, SLOTS UGC will give out 10,000 (ten thousand) brand-new scholarships. Each State's slot allocation will be determined by its population (as reported in the most recent census). If any State does not fill its available slots, the authority will fairly divide the remaining open spots among the remaining States. Additionally, a three percent horizontal reserve is mandatory for individuals with disabilities.
The Ishan Uday Scholarship Merit List

- You have been selected for the scholarship if your name shows up on the merit list after entering your name and conducting a search.
Ishan Uday Scholarship Status Check
