The KIITEE Phase 3 Exam is scheduled to be held from 6th to 8th July 2025. The KIITEE Cutoff 2025 represents the minimum score required for candidates to qualify for admission and participate in the counselling rounds conducted by KIIT University. The cutoff will be released on the official website — kiitee.kiit.ac.in — and will vary for each course and category.

Published in the form of opening and closing ranks, the cutoff is determined by multiple factors, including the number of applicants, seat availability, exam difficulty, and previous year trends. Candidates can use the cutoff data to assess their chances of securing admission to their desired course.

By the end of this blog, you will know

  • The expected KIITEE 2025 cutoff scores, along with category-wise qualifying marks.
  • Previous year closing ranks for B.Tech, Law, MBA, and other top courses.
  • How does the KIITEE exam cutoff affect your chances of getting into your preferred course, and what to expect during counseling?

What Influences the KIITEE Exam Cutoff 2025?

Before jumping to numbers, it’s important to understand what shapes the cutoff each year. The KIITEE 2025 cutoff isn’t a fixed number — it’s influenced by multiple elements that vary annually. Being aware of these helps you estimate your chances better.

Key factors include:

1. Number of test-takers

A higher number of candidates typically leads to increased competition and possibly a higher cutoff.

2. Exam difficulty level

A tougher paper may result in a lower cutoff, and vice versa.

3. Available seats

Limited seat intake for popular courses often results in stricter cutoffs.

4. Overall candidate performance

The average score across all test-takers plays a big role in determining the cutoffs.

5. Reservation categories

Cutoffs are relaxed for reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, and PH based on government norms.

KIITEE Exam Cutoff 2025: How Tie-Breaks Are Handled?

In case two or more applicants obtain identical scores in the KIITEE 2025 exam, KIIT follows specific tie-break rules to finalise the merit list. These criteria differ depending on the course a candidate has applied for. The table below outlines how rankings are determined in such cases:

Program

Tie-Breaking Method

B.Tech (4-Year)

Preference is given to the candidate with higher marks in Mathematics. If a tie remains, Physics marks are considered. If still unresolved, the older applicant gets priority.

B.Arch

Ranking is based on the candidate’s NATA score alone.

B.Tech (Lateral Entry)

First preference goes to Mathematics scores, followed by Basic Electrical Engineering marks. If there's still a tie, the elder candidate is ranked higher.

B.Sc Nursing

Biology marks come first, followed by Chemistry. If the tie continues, the older candidate is placed above.

BBA / BCA / Fashion or Textile Design / Film & TV Production / Law (BA LLB, BBA LLB, B.Sc LLB) / Communication & Journalism (UG)

Candidates are ranked based on Mathematical Ability. If tied, scores in Analytical Ability and then English are considered. If needed, age is the final deciding factor (older candidate preferred).

Biotechnology – Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech)

Biology scores take priority, followed by Chemistry. Age becomes the deciding factor if scores match in both subjects.

B.Sc Computer Science / BA Hons (Economics, English, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology) / B.Com

In cases of equal scores, preference is given to the older applicant.

M.Tech

If two candidates have the same score, the older individual is ranked higher.

LLM

Age is used as the only deciding factor in case of a tie.

M.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Data Science – 2-year)

Preference is given to the elder candidate.

PG Programs – M.Com, MA (Economics, English, Sociology, Public Policy, Spiritualism, Leadership, Anthropology), M.Sc (Computer Science), Master of Communication & Journalism

If candidates have identical scores, the one older in age is placed higher in the merit list.

KIITEE Percentile vs Rank 2025

KIIT will declare the KIITEE 2025 results phase-wise on its official portal – kiitee.kiit.ac.in. Candidates can log in using their application number and date of birth to view their scorecard. The result will mention both percentile and rank.

Only those who meet or exceed the KIITEE 2025 cutoff will qualify for the next step – counselling. The percentile helps determine your position in the merit list, while the rank is critical for branch allotment.

KIITEE 2025 Results

The KIITEE 2025 result will be released online for each phase of the exam. Candidates can log in with their credentials—application number and date of birth—to download their rank card.

Qualifying candidates will move forward to the counselling phase based on their rank and course preference. It’s crucial to score above the prescribed cutoff to be eligible for the admission round.

What Happens After the KIITEE Exam Cutoff is Released?

Once the KIITEE 2025 cutoff is out, candidates whose ranks fall within the specified range for their chosen course can participate in the counselling process. The counselling schedule, venue details, and important instructions will be included in the cutoff notification.

Here’s a list of documents candidates need to carry for the counselling session:

  • KIITEE 2025 Admit Card
  • KIITEE Rank Card
  • Class 10 & 12 Admit Cards and Mark Sheets
  • Class 10 & 12 Passing Certificates
  • Conduct and School Leaving Certificates
  • Reservation Certificate (if applicable)
  • Birth Certificate (or any age-proof document)
  • Two recent passport-sized color photographs
  • A government-issued photo ID
  • An authorised letter (if someone is attending on behalf of the candidate)
  • Demand Draft of ₹75,000 (includes ₹10,000 as registration fee; balance to be adjusted during admission)

Being fully prepared with the required paperwork and payment will help ensure a smooth counselling experience.

Securing admission into a reputed institution like KIIT requires more than just clearing the entrance exam—it demands a clear understanding of cutoff trends, course preferences, and competition levels. Whether you're aiming for Computer Science or another engineering discipline, staying informed about rank closures and category-specific cutoffs can help you make confident, well-timed choices. As KIIT continues to be a preferred destination for engineering aspirants, keeping track of accurate, up-to-date data will give you the edge you need during the counselling and admission process.

FAQs About KIITEE Exam Cutoff 2025

What is the procedure to settle an education loan before the due date in India?

You can preclose or settle your loan by paying the outstanding principal plus any applicable prepayment charges, after obtaining the bank’s approval.

Can I authorize someone else to complete my education loan formalities on my behalf?

Yes, a representative can complete formalities if they carry a signed authorization letter, your original documents, and required fees.

How does settling an education loan impact my credit score and future borrowing ability?

Loan settlement may slightly reduce your credit score but is better than defaulting. Timely closure is positive for future loans.

What documents are required to apply for a student loan in India?

Common documents include ID proof, address proof, academic certificates, admission letter, income proof, and bank statements.

Which banks and NBFCs offer the best education loans for Indian students?

Major lenders include SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank, and education loan-focused NBFCs.

What are the typical interest rates and repayment options for education loans in India?

Interest rates range 9–15% depending on the lender; repayment can be EMI-based or moratorium-linked, post-course completion.

Is there a moratorium period available before repaying my student loan?

Yes, most banks provide a moratorium period covering course duration plus 6–12 months after graduation before repayment starts.

Can I apply for an education loan for studying abroad or only within India?

Education loans are available for both domestic and international courses, provided you have admission confirmation and meet eligibility.

Are collateral or guarantors always required for higher education loans in India?

Loans above ₹7–10 lakh often require collateral. Smaller loans or government-subsidized schemes may not.

What are the maximum education loan amounts available for undergraduate and postgraduate courses?

Loans can range from ₹4–50 lakh based on course, institution, and whether collateral is provided.

How can I pay my education loan EMIs online or through mobile banking in India?

EMIs can be paid via net banking, mobile apps, auto-debit, or UPI transfers linked to the loan account.

What happens if I miss a repayment due date for my student loan?

Missing EMIs can lead to late payment fees, negative impact on CIBIL score, and potential recovery action by the lender.

Are there any government subsidies or schemes for education loans in India?

Yes, schemes like Vidyalakshmi Portal and Central Government Interest Subsidy (CGIS) offer benefits for certain courses and categories.

How do I check the status of my education loan application online?

Most banks provide a loan status tracker on their portal. You can log in using your application or reference number.

Can education loans be used to cover hostel, mess, and other university fees?

Yes, loans typically cover tuition, hostel, mess, library, lab, and other academic expenses as approved in the sanction letter.

Are education loans for professional courses like medical, engineering, or pilot training different?

Some specialized courses may have higher loan limits and stricter eligibility due to higher fees and course costs.

How does my CIBIL or credit history affect education loan approval in India?

Lenders consider CIBIL scores and repayment history; a higher score improves approval chances and may lower interest rates.
