About Presidency University Bangalore

Presidency University, Bangalore is a private state university established under the Karnataka Act No. 41 of 2013 and recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. Located at Rajanukunte, Yelahanka, Bengaluru — close to Kempegowda International Airport — the university spans a 62-acre residential campus. It operates ten specialised schools spanning Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Commerce, Law, Design, Media Studies, Liberal Arts, Information Science, and Allied Health Sciences, offering UG, PG, doctoral, and diploma programmes.

As a fully autonomous university, Presidency University awards its own degrees upon completion of any course. It has established collaborations with more than 100 premier institutions across 29 countries through its Office of International Affairs.

How to Apply Online — Step-by-Step

The entire admission process for the 2025-26 / 2026-27 academic cycle can be completed online through the official portal at apply.presidencyuniversity.in. The broad steps are:

  1. Visit the portal — Go to apply.presidencyuniversity.in and select your preferred programme. A student can apply to only one programme at a time.
  2. Register and fill the application form — Create an account using a valid email address; this email will be used for all correspondence until enrolment is complete. Provide personal contact details, educational qualifications, work experience (if any), and extracurricular accomplishments.
  3. Upload documents — Attach scanned copies of required documents (see checklist below). Ensure files meet the portal's size and format specifications.
  4. Pay the application fee — The application fee is non-refundable. Payment is made online; refer to the university's SOP for Online Payment on presidencyuniversity.in for accepted methods.
  5. Submit and track your application — After submission, the admissions committee reviews each application for basic eligibility and academic profile. Use the Presidency Query Management System (rather than email) for faster status updates.
  6. Personal Interview / Counselling — Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview or counselling session. The interview assesses aptitude for the chosen course, academic preparedness, soft skills, and awareness of current affairs.
  7. Receive the Provisional Admission Letter — Results are communicated within approximately 3 working days of the interview. Successful candidates receive a provisional admission letter detailing the commencement date of the selected course.
  8. Pay the Registration Fee and Confirm Enrolment — A registration fee must be paid after receiving the provisional letter. Subsequent fee instalments are paid as instructed by the admission office.
  9. Submit Original Documents — Original educational certificates and other documents must be submitted at the time of admission, against an acknowledgement slip. Documents are returned upon completion of the course.

Note: The admission cycle typically opens in January each year; the academic year commences in July or August depending on the programme. Confirm exact dates on the official portal (as of 2025-26; verify current timelines on presidencyuniversity.in).

For students who require structured financial assistance, a third-party education financing option is available through Jodo, a financial services provider empanelled by the university. Interested students should contact the admission office for referral and further details.
