Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya [SCSVMV], often known as Kanchi University, is a deemed university in Tamil Nadu with a better national reputation for Sanskrit studies. It is located in Kancheepuram. Numerous UG, PG, and Research Courses are available.
About nine undergraduate courses in twenty-three different fields, seven graduate courses in twenty-nine different fields, and nine M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs are available. A part-time B.E/M.E., Ph.D. course is also available. Lateral Entry is available for B.E. and MCA courses. The Department of Engineering and Technology offers recognized courses by certain disciplines in addition to honors and minor degrees in a number of major areas.
For B.E./B.Tech. courses, SCSVMV provides Full-Time, Part-Time, and Lateral Entry options. Admission to these programs is obtained through ERA (Uni-Gauge), SCSVMV (AISEEE), or JEE, with counseling following. Additionally, the departments offer honors and minor degrees in a number of major disciplines.
In addition to offering specializations in a variety of courses, the institution offers non-technical UG courses. While B.Ed takes two years and BAMS takes five years, BA, BBA, B.Com, and B.Sc programs last three years each. All course admissions are determined solely by merit. The only course for which admission is determined on NEET scores is BAMS.
The institution provides M.E. programs that are both full-time and part-time. A full-time course lasts two years, whereas a part-time course lasts three years. GATE scores are the primary criterion for admission to M.E. and M.Tech programs.
Full-time MBA programs with dual specializations in a number of subjects are available at SCSVMV. The National Level Entrance Exams, such as the CAT/XAT/JMAT/ATMA/MAT, or the entrance exam administered by SCSVMV, are the basis for admission to MBA programs.
The institution offers admission to PG degrees with several specialties in MA, M.Com, M.Sc., and MCA (Regular (3 years), Lateral (2 years). Every course lasts for two years. The University's Qualifying Exam Merit Marks are used to determine admission to the offered courses. At least a relevant undergraduate degree from an accredited university is required to apply for the courses.
With four research centers, SCSVMV provides Ph.D. and M.Phil. programs in a variety of topics at the doctorate level. A Ph.D. (Part-Time) takes four to six years, while an M.Phil lasts one year. A Ph.D. (Full-Time) takes three years. To be eligible to apply for the course, candidates must hold a valid Masters Degree in the relevant discipline with a 55% aggregate from an accredited university. M.Phil. admission is determined by the candidate's performance on the qualifying exam, and Ph.D. admission is determined by a written exam and interview for both M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates.
