Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College is widely regarded as one of the top medical colleges in the country despite being the youngest among the three major municipal hospitals offering medical courses. Named after the renowned freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak the college strives for excellence through service and is recognized as the first major referral hospital. Established fifty years ago in 1964 with an initial cohort of 60 students it has since evolved into a premier super specialty training center producing healthcare professionals. The hospital employs 550 postgraduate students and 300 senior staff members to cater to a large number of patients annually.
