JEE Mains Counselling 2025: A Comprehensive Guide

The JEE Main Counselling 2025 process is in process, with the first round of seat allotment results announced on June 14, 2025. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has also published the opening and closing ranks for Round 1. Candidates can check their seat allotment status and the cutoff ranks for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) on the official JoSAA website.

Candidates who appeared for JEE Main 2025 can participate in JoSAA counselling for admission to the participating institutes. Those who qualified in JEE Advanced 2025 are eligible for admission to IITs through the same counselling process. JEE Main Cutoff 2025 - JoSAA Cutoff for IITs, NITs, IIITs

The JEE Main 2025 qualifying cutoff percentile for the General category is around 93.10, while for OBC-NCL it is about 79.43, for SC 61.15, and for ST 47.90.

Candidates who meet these cutoffs become eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam, which is required for admission to IITs.

JoSAA releases separate admission cutoffs for institutes like NITs, IIITs, and other government-funded colleges based on JEE Main ranks, and these cutoffs vary each year depending on the institute, course, and category.

It is important to note that IIT admissions depend on JEE Advanced ranks, not JEE Main ranks, and only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main qualify to appear for JEE Advanced.
