OET Exam Cancellation Fees 2025

If you cannot attend the OET exam and need to cancel your registration, you can initiate the process by withdrawing your application. Refunds are available under specific conditions. 

Below are the details you should know about OET exam cancellation and refund policies:

Steps to Cancel OET on Paper at a Venue

Initiate the cancellation process at least one week before the test date. If you registered for the OET Paper-based test, follow the process below to cancel your booking:

1. Log in to your OET account.

2. Locate the booking you wish to cancel.

3. Click on the ‘Withdraw’ button.

Steps to Cancel OET on Computer at a Venue or OET at Home

For candidates taking the computer-based OET exam (either at a test venue or at home), the cancellation process must be completed two days before the test date.

Follow the below steps:

1. Log in to your OET account.

2. On your dashboard, select the ‘My Bookings’ option on the left-hand side.

3. Locate the booking you wish to cancel.

4. Click on the ‘Cancel Booking’ button.

OET Refund Policy After Cancellation

A refund may be issued after you cancel your OET exam application, subject to cancellation fees. The refund amount depends on the timing of your cancellation and the type of test.

OET Rescheduling (Paper-Based)

For paper-based OET exams, you can only reschedule all sub-tests in one booking. Once the test has been rescheduled, it cannot be undone. You cannot repurchase the test if you used a discount code for your original booking. Instead, you must cancel your test and choose new details for the rescheduled exam, including the date and venue.

Steps to Reschedule Paper-Based OET Test: 

  1. Log in to your OET account.
  2. Under the My Applications section, click the small arrow under the "Action" column and select Defer.
  3. Choose your new test date and/or venue and confirm your selection.

OET Rescheduling (Computer-Based)

For computer-based OET exams or OET at home, the rescheduling process involves the following steps:

  1. Log in to your OET account.
  2. Click on the ‘My Bookings’ tab.
  3. Find the test booking for which you wish to reschedule and select Reschedule Booking.
  4. You will be asked to reschedule all sub-tests (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) or just the Speaking sub-test. Choose your preferred option.
  5. Select your new test date and confirm the details. Proceed to the payment page to complete the process.
  6. If rescheduling within 48 hours before the exam, you must fill out a form with your complete details.
