TISS Admission Process 2026-27

TISS Colleges Admission Process 2026

From the 2024-25 cycle onwards, TISS admissions to most PG programmes are routed through the CUET (PG) examination conducted by NTA. For the 2026-27 cohort, the CUET PG 2026 exam window was 6–10 March 2026 and the result has been declared. A few flagship management programmes — HRM & LR, ODCL, MHA — continue to use CAT 2025 scores for shortlisting.

1. CUET PG 2026 Score (or CAT 2025 for HRM / ODCL / MHA)

Most TISS PG programmes shortlist purely on CUET PG 2026 scores (100% weightage). HRM & LR, ODCL, and MHA shortlist on the candidate's CAT 2025 score (with diversity weightages applied).

2. Pre-Interview Test (PIT)

Shortlisted candidates are invited to the Pre-Interview Test — a written test or group discussion, depending on the programme.

3. Personal Interview (PI)

After the PIT, the Personal Interview probes academic background, motivation for the chosen programme, and career aspirations.

4. Final Merit List

TISS releases the final merit list combining CUET PG / CAT score, PIT, and PI weightages. Specific weightages are published per programme on admissions.tiss.ac.in.

5. Counselling & Document Verification

Selected candidates participate in the counselling process and submit original documents for verification before securing the seat.

FAQs About Top TISS Colleges 2026

What are the top TISS campuses for 2026-27?

TISS operates 4 main campuses — Mumbai (flagship), Tuljapur, Hyderabad, and Guwahati — plus several independent research centres. TISS Mumbai's School of Management & Labour Studies (HRM, ODCL, MHA, Analytics) is the most placement-oriented cluster.

How does TISS admission work in 2026?

For 2026-27, most TISS PG programmes shortlist via CUET PG 2026 (100% weightage). Three flagship management programmes — HRM & LR, ODCL, and MHA — use the candidate's CAT 2025 score instead (with 3-5% diversity weightage). All shortlisted candidates then go through PIT + PI rounds.

When was the CUET PG 2026 exam held?

The CUET PG 2026 exam was conducted by NTA between 6 and 10 March 2026, and the result has been declared for the 2026-27 admission cycle.

What are the TISS Mumbai 2025 placement numbers?

For the 2023-25 HRM & LR batch (placements wrapped Jan 2025): Highest INR 36.25 LPA, Average INR 28.20 LPA, Median INR 28 LPA. About 85% of the batch landed offers ≥ INR 20 LPA, and 43% received PPOs from summer internships.

Is TISSNET still the entrance exam for TISS?

No — TISSNET has been discontinued. From the 2024-25 cycle, TISS uses CUET PG for most programmes and CAT for HRM/ODCL/MHA. Older preparation material referring to TISSNET is no longer applicable.

Which TISS programme has the highest placement package?

TISS Mumbai's M.A. in HRM & LR consistently posts the highest placements at TISS — with the Batch 2023-25 hitting INR 36.25 LPA. ODCL and MHA also post strong placements in the same band.

What is the duration of TISS PG programmes?

All flagship TISS PG programmes (M.A., M.Sc., MHA, MPH, LL.M., MLIS) are 2 years full-time.

What is the cut-off for TISS PG programmes?

Cut-offs vary by programme, category, and selection test. For CUET-PG-based programmes, the cut-off is set per category per subject each year. For CAT-based HRM & LR, the qualifying CAT percentile typically sits in the high 90s. Check admissions.tiss.ac.in for the latest category-wise cut-off per programme.

How do I prepare for TISS admission 2026-27?

If targeting CUET-PG-based programmes, focus on the relevant CUET PG subject paper (per the programme) and the General Test. If targeting HRM/ODCL/MHA, prepare for CAT (Quant + VARC + DI/LR) — a 95+ percentile CAT score is competitive for HRM & LR.

Does TISS offer scholarships?

Yes — TISS offers a range of scholarships including the Govt. of India PG Scholarship, GoI Means-cum-Merit, and need-based/financial-aid scholarships. Specific eligibility is published per programme on admissions.tiss.ac.in.

What are the major recruiters at TISS Mumbai?

Across the HRM, ODCL, and MHA cohorts, top recruiters include the Aditya Birla Group, Tata Group, Asian Paints, Accenture, Flipkart, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and major BFSI/Manufacturing/Consulting firms. The Manufacturing & Conglomerates sector accounted for 34% of offers in 2024-25; BFSI was 14%.

Can I get into TISS without CAT or CUET PG?

No — every TISS PG programme requires either a CUET PG 2026 score (most programmes) or a CAT 2025 score (HRM, ODCL, MHA). There is no admission route bypassing both.

Is there an MBA at TISS?

TISS does not offer a conventional MBA. The closest equivalents are the M.A. in HRM & Labour Relations (a 2-year HR Master's widely regarded as one of India's top HR programmes) and the M.A. in ODCL (organisation development & leadership). Both use CAT for shortlisting and place into the same recruiter pool as the IIMs.
