Established in 1996, Haldia Institute of Technology is the first institute in West Bengal with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is an ICARE institute. The college holds a "A" grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is associated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). Students having a bachelor’s degree in B.E/B. Tech is eligible for the M.Tech program.
The selection is done on the basis of score obtained in the entrance exam of WB PGET or GATE.
The eligibility criteria for MBA is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
The selection process is carried out through WBJEMAT.
For the MCA course, the student should have completed a 3 years BCA program or any relevant course and must have studied mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 or graduation level are eligible to apply.
The selection process is done through WB-JECA. Before the final selection, PI is held by the college.
