While selected scholars receive the first installment of the PM scholarship immediately after the merit list is announced, subsequent payments are made only if students apply for renewal after completing each academic year. Similar to the fresh application, candidates can apply for renewal online. However, to be eligible for the renewal application, they must fulfill certain conditions, including:

  • Attaining at least 50% marks in each semester or academic year.
  • Passing all subjects in each year/semester in one attempt.

Documents Required for Scholarship:

Certificate of Service (for serving personnel) issued by the Head of Office (HOO)Certificate issued by the respective state government indicating the demise of State Police personnel in Naxal/Terror attacks Certificate of Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) as applicable – Class 12th mark sheet, Graduation mark sheet (for all years), or diploma mark sheets (for all semesters)Pension Payment Order (PPO)/Discharge Certificate/Book (Mandatory for Category A to F)Death Certificate (Required for deceased personnel)Disability Certificate (Required for disabled personnel)Certificate of Gallantry Award (Required for Gallantry Award winners)

Additional Information

PM Scholarship for Integrated Courses

The Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) required for eligibility is 10+2. However, when applying, students must upload mark sheets for 10+2 in all cases, including 1st year and 2nd year (all semesters) when the 1st course is non-professional.

There are two types of Integrated Courses (dual degree) outlined below:

  1. Integrated courses (dual degree) with both courses as Professional/Technical, such as BE+ME, B.Tech+M.Tech, BBA+MBA, etc. In such cases, the scholarship will be granted only for the first professional degree.
  2. Integrated Courses (dual degree) with the first degree as Academic (Non-Professional) and the second degree as Professional/Technical, for example, BA+LLB, B.Com+LLB, B.Sc.+B.Ed. In such cases, students will be funded for the professional part of the course, not the non-professional/academic part.

For students pursuing Integrated courses where one degree is professional and the other is non-professional, the scholarship will be awarded only for the professional portion of the dual degree course, not the academic portion. This is illustrated with an example:

In BA+LLB (dual degree course), the first degree is BA, which is non-professional, and the 2nd degree is LLB, which is professional. Therefore, the scholarship will be provided only for the professional portion (i.e., LLB).

For cases where the 1st degree is non-professional and the 2nd degree is professional, students must have successfully completed the previous two years of the non-professional course without fail when applying for the PM scholarship from the third year onwards. Repetition/RA/Failure will render students ineligible to apply for a scholarship. Additionally, students must clear all subjects of the 1st & 2nd year in the first attempt and within the stipulated time frame from the date of admission; otherwise, they will not be considered for the award of the scholarship, and their application will be rejected.
