The BITSAT exam pattern has been officially announced on the BITS admission portal. The exam will be conducted in computer-based mode and will last for 3 hours. Candidates will have to solve 130 multiple-choice questions, totalling 390 marks.
The exam pattern includes essential details such as exam duration, mode, total marks, and marking scheme. The BITSAT exam is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Logical Reasoning. The official syllabus has been released online on the BITS website.
The exam will be conducted in two sessions. Session 1 is scheduled from May 26 to May 30, 2025, while Session 2 will occur from June 22 to June 26, 2025.

Candidates appearing for BITSAT 2025 must be familiar with the section-wise distribution of questions to plan their strategy effectively. The exam consists of four parts, covering different subjects.

BITSAT Exam Pattern: 12 Additional Questions
Candidates who complete all 130 questions within three hours will have the opportunity to attempt 12 extra questions. These additional questions provide a chance to improve their overall score but must be answered within the remaining time.
The 12 additional questions will come from the following subjects:
- Physics: 3 questions
- Chemistry: 3 questions
- Mathematics/Biology: 4 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 2 questions
Once a candidate opts to attempt these extra questions, they cannot go back and revise or modify any of the previously attempted 130 questions. The extra questions must be completed within the original 3-hour exam duration, as no additional time will be provided.
