The BITSAT 2026 result will be declared by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani after each session on bitsadmission.com. Candidates can log in with their application number and password to view their score, percentile and All India category-wise position. Admission to BE/B.Pharm programmes at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses is then processed in multiple iteration rounds, with candidates required to confirm seats by paying the prescribed fee within the iteration-specific deadline or risk seat cancellation.

For the 2026-27 admission cycle, BITSAT will again be held in two sessions — Session 1 in April 2026 and Session 2 in May 2026. If a candidate attempts both sessions, the better score is considered for admission.

BITSAT Result 2026: Tie-Breaking Rules

When two or more candidates achieve the same score in BITSAT 2026, the following criteria are used sequentially to determine their ranking:

  1. The candidate with the higher score in Mathematics (or Biology for those applying to B.Pharm) in the BITSAT exam is given preference.
  2. If the tie persists, the candidate with the better score in Physics in BITSAT is ranked higher.
  3. If a tie still exists, the candidate with the higher Chemistry score in BITSAT is favored.
  4. If candidates remain tied after these steps, their aggregate marks in the Class 12 board exams for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for B.Pharm applicants) are considered.
  5. In the unlikely event that the tie remains unresolved, further criteria such as age or other factors may be applied as per the official guidelines.

This structured approach ensures a clear and fair ranking of candidates with identical BITSAT scores.

BITSAT Merit List 2026 Details

As part of the BITSAT 2026 admission process, candidates will be categorized into either the admit list or the wait list based on their performance in the exam and seat availability.

Admit List

  • The admit list includes candidates who meet the minimum cutoff scores set by the authorities.
  • Candidates whose names appear in the admit list will be eligible to participate in the BITSAT 2026 counselling process.
  • The admit list will be released prior to each Iteration Round.
  • Those listed must submit their admission application and confirm their seat by paying the required fees within the given timeline

Wait List

  • Candidates who are not allotted a seat in the current iteration round will be placed on the wait list.
  • The wait list comprises qualified candidates who may be offered admission in subsequent rounds, depending on seat availability.
  • If any candidate from the admit list withdraws, those on the wait list will be considered for admission in the order of merit.
  • Candidates on the wait list should regularly check updates during each iteration round to track their selection status.

This structured process ensures that all available seats are efficiently allocated while maintaining fairness for candidates who narrowly miss the initial cut.

BITSAT follows a +3, -1 marking scheme — 3 marks for every correct answer and a penalty of 1 mark for every wrong one. There is no partial marking, and unattempted questions carry zero marks.

What is the BITSAT cutoff 2026?

The cutoff for CSE at BITS Pilani is expected to be around 370–375, while other branches have lower cutoffs. For campuses like Goa and Hyderabad, cutoff scores range between 250 to 340, depending on the program.

What is the highest score on the BITSAT?

The maximum achievable score in BITSAT is 450, including the bonus questions.

Toppers often score above 420, though perfect scores are extremely rare.

What is the filling date for BITS Pilani Form 2026?

The application form for BITS Pilani admission is expected to release in January 2026. Filling typically remains open till early April 2026, with slot booking and exams following shortly after.
