Eligibility Criteria for CTET Exam 2026
To be eligible for the CTET 2026 exam, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications and age criteria. The eligibility requirements for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are outlined below:
CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria: Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5)
Candidates must meet any one of the following conditions:
- Passed Senior Secondary (or equivalent qualification) with minimum 50% marks and either passed or currently in the 2nd year of a Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Passed Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks and either passed or in the 2nd year of a Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE norms).
- Passed Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and either passed or appeared in the 4th year of a Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El. Ed).
- Qualified Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks and either qualified or appearing in the 2nd year of Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Completed graduation and also holds a B.Ed degree.
CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria: Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8)
Candidates must meet any one of the following conditions:
- Graduated and passed or appearing in the 2nd year of a Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduated with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a B.Ed program.
- Graduated with at least 40% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed (as per NCTE rules).
- Qualified Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the 4th year of a Bachelor's in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Passed senior secondary with minimum 50% marks and passed or appeared in the fourth year of a B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed program.
- Graduated with 50% marks and passed or pursuing a 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
