Role of MET in Admissions

The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2026 is a vital component in the admission process for Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). It acts as the gateway for candidates seeking admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The MET score is used to prepare the merit list, which forms the basis for counselling, seat allotment, and final admissions. Without qualifying MET 2026, candidates will not be eligible to participate in the counselling rounds. Therefore, the exam plays a decisive role in determining admission offers across MAHE's participating campuses.

MET Counselling and Seat Allotment Procedure

Engaging in MET Counselling entails a straightforward process. Candidates simply need to register, attend counselling sessions as scheduled, and adhere to the instructions issued by the authorities.

Step 1: To register on the official website using MET application form number

  • Head to the designated counselling portal for MET.
  • Access the portal using your MET 2024 application form number and OTBS password, - which you received during the application phase.
  • Upon logging in, ensure to update your profile with all necessary information accurately and thoroughly.

Step 2: Payment of counselling fee and its adjustment against tuition fees

  • Upon successful registration, you'll be prompted to remit the MET 2024 counselling fee, amounting to INR 10,000.
  • You can conveniently make the payment online via net banking, credit card, or debit card.
  • Notably, failing to settle the fee renders you ineligible for seat allotment.
  • However, on a positive note, the counselling fee will be credited towards your tuition expenses upon program selection.

Step 3: Process of filling choices and order of preference for courses and campuses

  • This step holds immense significance as you specify your preferred campuses and courses.
  • You have the flexibility to select multiple campuses and courses, prioritized in order of preference.
  • These selections directly influence the seat allotment process, hence requiring careful prioritization.

Step 4: Description of the seat allotment mechanics based on merit, choices, and seat availability

  • The seat allotment results will be published online by the authorities, factoring in elements such as your entrance exam rank, preferred selections, and program availability.
  • To verify your seat allotment status, access the counselling portal using your login credentials.
  • Seats are allocated based on merit, favoring candidates with higher ranks for their desired preferences.

Step 5: Final stages involving fee payment and document verification for securing admission

  • Upon being allocated a seat in your desired program, you must validate your admission by remitting the requisite fees.
  • The fee sum varies according to the assigned program and campus.
  • Simultaneously, you're obligated to undergo document authentication, a pivotal step in confirming your admission.

Document Checklist for Manipal Counselling

Ensuring a seamless Manipal Counselling journey necessitates gathering the essential paperwork beforehand. These documents must be presented in original and photocopies at their allotted campuses for verification.

Here is a list of these essential documents:

  1. Duly filled-in Common Registration Form downloaded from the Manipal Counselling portal.
  2. MET 2024 Hall Ticket
  3. Class 10th Standard marks card to provide proof of your date of birth
  4. Class 12th Standard marks card issued by a recognized board
  5. Parent/Guardian’s PAN Card
  6. 2 recent passport-size photographs
  7. Authorization Letter if someone else is attending on your behalf.
  8. For candidates belonging to the OCI or PIO category, it's essential to bring a copy of the Overseas Citizen of India/Person of Indian Origin Card if applied under this category.

Important Consideration for Manipal Counselling Documents

If you're unable to furnish the original eligibility documents, such as mark sheets, during counselling, a college principal-attested internet copy is deemed acceptable.

  • Qualifications acquired from boards established by either a Central or State Government Gazette Notification, an Act of Central or State Government, or Executive orders issued by the Central or State Government will be deemed valid for admission.
  • Ensure to double-check and prepare in advance by reviewing this list meticulously and ensuring you have all the requisite documents. Timely submission and thorough documentation are paramount for securing your seat at MAHE.

MET 2024 Counselling Fee Structure

During Manipal counselling registration, candidates must also fulfill the fee requirement. The MET counselling 2024 fees amount to Rs. 10,000, serving as a waitlist deposit, to be remitted online during the MET counselling 2024 registration phase. Once the MET counselling fees are settled, candidates gain eligibility for Manipal choice filling, enabling their participation in the online MIT Manipal counselling 2024.

Following seat allotment results in any round of MET BTech counselling, the candidate must submit the first installment fee within the stipulated timeline to confirm the seat allocation. Upon fee payment, the MET counselling fees paid during registration transform into a refundable caution deposit, forming part of the Course fee.

In the event of non-allotment in any counselling rounds, the waitlist deposit will be reimbursed within one month after completing all MET counselling process rounds.
