How to Calculate the SNAP Exam Score?

The SNAP exam result is presented in percentile format and calculated based on the raw scores obtained by candidates.

Below is the marking scheme used to calculate the SNAP score:

Total Marks of SNAP Exam: 60

Marking Scheme

  • +1 mark for every correct answer
  • -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer
  • 0 marks for unanswered questions

The formula to calculate the SNAP score is:

SNAP Score = (Number of Correct Answers × 1) - (Number of Incorrect Answers × 0.25)

Example:

If a candidate attempts 50 questions, with 40 correct and 10 incorrect answers, the SNAP score will be calculated as follows:
SNAP Score = (40 × 1) - (10 × 0.25) = 40 - 2.5 = 37.5

Once the scores for all three sections of the SNAP exam are calculated, the total score is added together and then scaled down to 50 to determine the candidate’s final score.

The SNAP percentile is then calculated based on the number of qualifying candidates, and the final scorecard is prepared.
