Admission to courses at the Chettinad Academy of Research and Education is determined by an entrance exam or merit. Applicants must take national entrance tests in order to be considered for admission to the faculty of medicine and school of architecture at the Chettinad Academy of Research of Education. The college accepts appropriate NEET results for admission to its medical programs, and CARE accepts NATA/JEE 2 scores for admission to its BArch program. The University administers the Chettinad Entrance Aptitude Test (CEAT) in addition to JEE.
The college provides Medical Genetics, Medical Biotechnology, Counseling Psychology, Medical Bionanotechnology, and Allied Health Sciences as some of the five full-time Chettinad Academy of Research and Education B.Sc. courses. Selection for the B.Sc. The program at CARE Kelambakkam is done through personal interviews and merit.
There are twenty full-time Chettinad Academy of Research and Education M.Sc. programmes available at the college, including programmes in bioinformatics, marine pharmacology, human nutrition, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, radiology, and imaging science technology. M.Sc. programmes at CARE Kelambakkam are available for two to five years.
Three years of full-time MS Otorhinolaryngology and MD Biochemistry courses are offered by the college.
