Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), established in 2001 and located in Bilaspur, is affiliated with Ayush and Health Sciences University of Chhattisgarh, Raipur, and funded by the State Government. The institute offers MBBS at the undergraduate level and MD at the postgraduate level, both recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Admission to MBBS is based on NEET UG ranks for Chhattisgarh State, with eligible candidates required to have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, securing at least 50% in 12th grade (45% for reserved categories). For MD admissions, candidates must appear in NEET PG and have completed an MBBS degree with a one-year internship. Admissions are conducted through online counseling, with seat allotment based on merit, managed by the Directorate of Medical Education, Raipur.
CIMS offers five and a half year MBBS degrees, which include a one year rotating internship requirement. There are one hundred students admitted each year. 15% of the total seats are set out for All India Quota candidates, while 3% are designated for Central Government nominees. Candidates from the states will fill the remaining 82% of the seats.
