Established in 1998, DIT University was awarded the status of a State Private University by the UGC in 2013. With a focus on applied science, engineering and technology, architecture and design, and economics, the university offers over 70 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, certificate, postgraduate, and PhD levels. Undergraduate courses can be found at DIT University. At the 10+2 level, both courses require a pass as the basic eligibility criterion. Admission into B. Tech is premised on actual performance in JEE Main by preference while admission into B. Arch is on NATA or JEE Main scores.

DIT University offers Direct Admissions to board toppers or candidates who have qualified more than 95% Marks in 10+2. The rest of the students will be granted admission based on counselling conducted by DIT University, Dehradun. M.Tech and MBA courses are offered by the university at the PG level in different specializations. A relevant discipline’s Bachelor’s degree is the least eligibility. In the admission process for M.Tech, students who have cleared GATE/NET examinations are preferred. During selection into the MBA program, preference is given to candidates who have CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/UKSEE/DUET scores after which they undergo a Group Discussion (GD) as well as Personal Interview (PI) sessions.
DIT University also offers M.Pharm., M.Sc., MCA and M.Des. at PG level. A Bachelor’s degree is required for admission in all the PG courses. M.Pharm. admission is based on the GPAT/DUET/UKSEE exams. For admission into M.Sc., candidates are evaluated on the basis of their merit in the qualifying exam or UKSEE score. Admission to MCA and M.Des. solely depends upon merit in the qualifying exam.

A valid score in GATE/ SLET or NET is required for admission. The university also conducts DUET exam for Non-GATE/ Non-SLET/ Non-NET candidates.
