About NIEPA

• Originated as the UNESCO-initiated Asian Regional Centre in 1962, later evolving into the National Staff College in 1970, and renamed NIEPA in 1979.
• It was granted autonomy and the ability to award its own degrees in 2006.
• Functions as a central policy and research hub for educational planning, administration, finance, management information systems, and higher education frameworks.

NIEPA Admissions 2025

Eligibility & Entry:

• MA & Diploma: Graduation in a relevant field
• M.Phil & Ph.D.: Master’s degree with minimum marks as per UGC norms; entrance test and interview required

Admission Process:

2. Entrance test followed by interview for research programmes
3. Seat confirmation through final merit list
4. Fee payment and enrollment

Important Dates:

• MA/Professional diploma applications reopen mid-2025
• IDEPA scheduled from February to July 2025

NIEPA Training, Research & Consultancy

1. Trains approximately 1,500 senior educational planners and administrators annually through national and international programmes.
2. Conducts capacity-building workshops, seminars, and refresher courses for school, college, and university administrators.
3. Engages in research studies and consultancy for central and state governments, as well as international bodies.
4. Publishes research reports, journals, books, and policy briefs in educational planning and administration.
5. Provides advisory support for educational policy implementation, EMIS systems, and sector-wide reforms

NIEPA International & Capacity-Building Programmes

• The International Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration (IDEPA) has been running since 1985, with over 900 participants from 95 countries.
• Offers targeted programmes on NEP 2020, Education 4.0, generative AI in e-content, and other modern themes.
• Collaborates with global bodies such as UNESCO, World Bank, British Council, UNICEF, and Commonwealth of Learning.
