Established in 1931, the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is an institution recognized globally for its research and training in statistics and associated sciences. ISI's main headquarters is located in Kolkata; however, four additional centers are also functioning in the cities of Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Tezpur. In 1959, ISI was designated as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Although it has grown significantly since its inception, this recognition has cemented its role in the academic landscape.
