Candidates who completed their 10+2 education should have received an overall score of 45% in Mathematics and Physics, which are required subjects, in addition to Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, and Biology. Candidates from Karnataka's Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Backward Classes (Categories I, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) must receive a minimum of 40% overall in the qualifying exam's optional topics in order to be eligible.
NHCE provides postgraduate M.Tech, MBA, and MCA programmes. Two years of M.Tech, MCA, and MBA programmes are available. A minimum of 50% in the total of all years' degree examination marks (rounding off aggregate percentage is not allowed) is required for a bachelor's degree. However, for Karnataka applicants who fall under the Sc/ST or Category I categories, the total percentage of marks from all of the qualifying exam years must equal at least 45%, or an integer 45 (rounding off the aggregate percentage is not allowed).
Admission to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) by Research is available twice a year, in February and June, through NHCE. There are part-time and full-time options available for these programmes. The selection process is based on the results of the Research Aptitude Test, which is administered in accordance with VTU rules and is followed by an interview.
