Types of B Tech Agriculture Engineering Courses

BTech in Agricultural Engineering is available in two formats in India: Full-Time and Lateral Entry. Students can choose based on their qualifications and preferences.

Agriculture Engineering Full-Time Course:

The full-time course requires candidates to have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) for the general category. For candidates belonging to the reserved category, the minimum requirement is 45% marks. Additionally, applicants must qualify through an entrance exam. The duration of the full-time course is 4 years.

Agriculture Engineering Lateral Entry Course:

For lateral entry, candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in a Diploma or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field. The duration of the lateral entry course is 3 years.

Agriculture Engineering Distance Education Course:

The distance education option is offered as a BTech in Agriculture Informatics, approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This program spans four years, divided into eight semesters, and focuses on applying technology in agriculture through courses in agriculture informatics, engineering applications, and modern farming techniques. Students must have completed their 12th grade (10+2) from a recognised board to be eligible. The distance mode provides flexibility for working professionals and those who prefer remote learning.
