KEAM 2025 Counselling Process After Result Declaration

Once the KEAM 2025 results are announced, the next critical stage for aspirants is the counselling and seat allotment process. The counselling process will be conducted entirely online and will involve multiple steps that every qualified candidate must complete within the given deadlines.

Here’s what the process looks like:

1. Merit List Release

After the results, CEE will issue a merit list based on candidates’ performance. This list will be published on the official website – cee.kerala.gov.in.

2. Online Registration

Candidates need to register for counselling using their application credentials. Registration is the first and mandatory step to participate in the seat allotment.

3. Option Entry (Choice Filling)

After registration, applicants must fill in their preferred colleges and courses based on their rank and interest.

4. Trial Allotment

Before the final allotment, CEE will release a trial seat allotment list, giving candidates a preview of how their choices might convert into an actual seat. This helps in adjusting preferences before final locking.

5. Final Seat Allotment

The final seat allotment list will be published as per the schedule. Candidates who receive a seat must confirm their admission by paying the requisite fees and reporting to the allotted college.

BPharm Admission Qualifying Marks KEAM Result 2025

Candidates aspiring to secure a spot in the BPharm course through KEAM 2025 must achieve a minimum normalised score of 10 to be considered for the rank list. Candidates failing to achieve this score will not be included in the BPharm rank list.

However, SC/ST candidates are exempt from this minimum score requirement. That said, SC/ST applicants must answer at least one question in both the Physics and Chemistry sections of the Engineering Entrance Examination to avoid disqualification. Candidates are advised to thoroughly review their responses to ensure they meet these criteria, especially in the critical sections.

KEAM 2025 Minimum Marks Required for Engineering Admission

To be eligible for inclusion in the KEAM 2025 Engineering rank list, candidates must secure at least the 10th percentile marks in the entrance examination. This benchmark ensures that only candidates who demonstrate a basic level of proficiency are considered for admission.

However, candidates from the SC/ST categories are exempt from this minimum score requirement.

KEAM Result 2025 Normalisation Procedure

The KEAM 2025 normalisation procedure is designed to standardise the scores of candidates who appear in different sessions of the entrance exam. Since the exam may be held in multiple sessions, normalising the scores ensures that no candidate is at an advantage or disadvantage due to differences in the difficulty level of the exam papers.

Here’s a brief overview of the process:

1. Normalisation Based on Raw Scores

The raw scores obtained by candidates in each session are adjusted to account for any discrepancies in paper difficulty. This ensures that the scores are comparable across all sessions.

2. Calculation Method

The normalisation process uses the statistical method of equating the raw scores based on the mean and standard deviation of each session’s scores. This helps ensure consistency and fairness in the results.

3. Impact on Final Rank

After normalisation, the candidates' ranks are determined, which helps maintain fairness when preparing the final merit list and ensures that it reflects a candidate's true performance.

Understanding the Distinction Between The KEAM Scorecard and The KEAM Rank List

After the KEAM 2025 exam, candidates receive both a scorecard and a rank list, each serving a different purpose in the admission process.

Let’s break down the difference:

1. KEAM 2025 Scorecard

This document includes your scores in each subject and the total marks secured in the entrance examination. It is accessible through your candidate login on the official website. The scorecard helps you understand your performance in the exam, but it does not indicate your rank or admission chances.

2. KEAM 2025 Rank List

The rank list is calculated by combining the entrance exam marks with your marks in the qualifying examination (usually Class 12). The weightage is typically 50:50 for engineering courses. Separate rank lists are prepared for different streams, such as Engineering, Architecture, BPharm, MBBS, and allied medical and agricultural courses.

Validity of KEAM Result 2025 Scores and Rank Lists

The KEAM 2025 scores and rank lists are valid only until the final admission deadline, which the Hon’ble Supreme Court, respective Central Councils, or the concerned universities determine. Candidates must complete their admission process within this period to retain their eligibility.

After the KEAM entrance exam results are declared, candidates are required to submit their Class 12 marks. These marks are considered along with the KEAM score in a 50:50 ratio to prepare the final rank list. Based on this combined score, candidates are ranked in order of merit.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for KEAM Result and Rank List 2025

When multiple candidates score the same marks in KEAM 2025, the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has set specific tie-breaking rules to determine the final rank order.

Here’s a breakdown of how tie-breaking is handled for different streams in KEAM 2025.

Engineering Rank List Tie-Breaking

If two or more candidates have identical total index marks (from normalised entrance exam and qualifying exam scores):

  1. A candidate with a higher Mathematics score (pre-normalised) in KEAM is ranked higher.

  2. If still tied, a higher Physics score (pre-normalised) in KEAM is considered.

  3. Next, higher standardised Mathematics marks in the qualifying exam are checked.

  4. Followed by higher standardised Physics marks in the qualifying exam.

  5. If still unresolved, the number of correct answers in Mathematics in KEAM is used.

  6. Then, a number of correct answers in Physics is considered.

  7. If a tie remains, the older candidate is given preference.

  8. In the rare case of a continued tie, CEE's decision is final.

BPharm Rank List Tie-Breaking

For candidates tied in total normalised marks:

  1. Preference for a higher Chemistry score (pre-normalised) in KEAM.

  2. Then, a higher physics score (pre-normalised) achieved in KEAM will be considered.

  3. If still tied, more correct responses in Chemistry are considered.

  4. Followed by correct responses in Physics.

  5. Then, the older candidate is ranked higher.

  6. If the tie remains, CEE's final discretion applies.

Architecture Rank List Tie-Breaking

When total marks (out of 400) are the same:

  1. A candidate with a higher NATA score is placed higher.

  2. If tied, higher Mathematics marks in the qualifying exam are considered.

  3. Then, preference is given to the older candidate.

Ayurveda Rank List Tie-Breaking

In case of a tie in the Ayurveda stream, the candidate with the higher NEET-UG rank is placed above others.

The KEAM Result 2025 marks a crucial step in your journey toward securing admission to top professional colleges in Kerala. From understanding how to check your result and download the rank card to knowing the tie-breaking rules, qualifying marks, and counselling process, staying informed helps you make confident choices. Keep an eye on official announcements, prepare your documents in advance, and get ready for the next phase of counselling and seat allotment.
