MET Exam Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the MET 2025 application form, it's important to confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria set by the authorities. Different qualifications apply depending on whether you're applying for a regular BTech program or seeking lateral entry. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll need:
For BTech programs:
- Must have passed 10+2, A-Level, IB, or American 12th Grade or equivalent.
- Physics, Mathematics, and English are compulsory subjects.
- One optional subject among Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a technical vocational subject is also required.
- A minimum total of 50% marks is required in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject.
For Lateral Entry BTech:
- Should hold a 3-year diploma in Engineering from a state technical board or a BSc degree from a recognised university.
- Must have scored at least 45% in the qualifying exam and should have studied Mathematics at the 12th-grade level

MET Exam 2025: Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme
The Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2025 will be conducted as a computer-based examination. It is divided into four sections: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. The test comprises 60 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 2 hours. Each correct response will earn the candidate 4 marks. For incorrect MCQs, 1 mark will be deducted.
Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions will not have any negative marking. The exam will be conducted only in English. Here's how the paper is structured:

MET Exam 2025: Slot Booking Process
For Phase 1, the MET 2025 slot booking process ended on April 9, 2025. Candidates used their application number and OTBS password (DOB in DDMMYYYY format) to choose a slot. Booking was on a first-come-first-served basis, and only those who selected a slot received their hall tickets. If a candidate missed a booking, the system auto-assigned a slot. For Phase 2, slot booking will be available from May 2 to May 4, 2025.
MET Exam 2025: Result Declaration
The result of the MET 2025 exam will be declared online at manipal.edu. Applicants can access their scores and rank by logging into their account. In addition, rank and score updates will also be shared via SMS. Please note that no provision will be made for re-evaluation or rechecking of results. Final admission decisions will be based on your MET performance and subsequent counselling.
MET Exam 2025: Counselling & Seat Allotment
Applicants who qualify for the exam will receive an invitation to join the online counselling process. Registration will require logging in with the application number and password. After completing their profiles, candidates will have to pay a counselling fee of INR 10,000 online (adjustable against tuition fees). Preferences for programs and campuses must be submitted during this stage.
Seat allocation will depend on rank, preferences, and seat availability. To confirm admission, selected candidates must complete all formalities within the given deadline.
