Can NRIs and foreign nationals apply for admission to DAIICT?

NRIs foreign nationals can apply for the undergraduate program of DAIICT. A total of 54 seats are allotted for NRIs and foreign nationals. For admission purposes, the following categories will be considered Non-Resident Indians:

• Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. 
• Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders. 
• Certificates of NRI issued by the Indian embassy of the country in which the NRI is residing. 
• Passport indicating an applicant as ‘Non-Resident Indian’
• Persons who have passed 10th or 12th standard outside India, provided either parent of the applicant is residing abroad and submits proof that they are an NRI.

Are sponsored candidates and external candidates eligible for PhD Admissions at DAIICT?

Ans. Yes, sponsored and external candidates are eligible for a PhD. They must have a master’s degree or M. Phil in Computational Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or ICT and related domains.

How are students evaluated during the program at DAIICT?

DAIICT follows a choice-based semester system (CBSS). Students are awarded letter grades on a 10-point scale (SPI/CPI). Grading is not based on final examination; rather, it is based on continuous assessment throughout the semester.

What are the courses offered at DAIICT?

DAIICT offers limited courses at UG & PG levels. At undergraduate level, it offers B.Tech in specializations such as Information and Communication Technology, Honors in ICT with a minor in Computational Science, Mathematics and Computing, Electronics and VLSI Design. At postgraduate level, Dhirubhai Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT) offers M.Tech, M.Sc & M.Des. Furthermore, it also offers Ph.D in various specializations.

Yes, DAIICT M.Des Admission is based on CEED/ DAT. The institute charges INR 1,04,00 Per Semester.

DAIICT Admission 2024 is open. The last date to apply for DAIICT B.Tech Admission 2024 is June 17, 2024. The last date to apply for DAIICT M.Tech & M.Sc Admission 2024 is May 20, 2024. The entrance test for the NON-GATE Category is scheduled for June 16, 2024.  The last date to apply for PhD Admission is May 20, 2024. The interview of the selected candidates is scheduled for June 26, 2024 & June 27, 2024.

Ans. No, at present, DAIICT does not offer any distance learning programs.

Ques. Are there any stipendiary benefits for M.Tech, (ICT) students?

Ans. All GATE-admitted students would be eligible for a monthly stipend of INR 12400/- in the form of Teaching Assistants in the first semester. In subsequent semesters, the continuation would depend on their academic records. Non-GATE admitted candidates will be considered for teaching assistantships based on their credentials.
