About IIT Bhilai
Established in 2016, IIT Bhilai is one of India's newer Indian Institutes of Technology, located in Kutelabhata, Durg, Chhattisgarh. The institute spans a 447-acre campus equipped with modern infrastructure, including advanced laboratories, research centers, and residential facilities. Despite its recent inception, IIT Bhilai has rapidly gained recognition for its academic excellence, innovative research, and strong industry collaborations. In the NIRF 2024 rankings, it secured the 73rd position in the engineering category.

Ph.D.
Ph.D. students often receive stipends or scholarships, reducing their fee burden. The total expenses can be around ₹1,00,000 per year, excluding stipends.
Note: SC/ST/PwD students are exempted from tuition fees. Economically Backward students may avail fee waivers as per institute norms.
IIT Bhilai Admission Process
B.Tech Admissions
- Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in PCM/PCMB subjects.
- Entrance Exam: JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced.
- Selection Process: Admissions are based on JEE Advanced ranks through JoSAA Counselling.
M.Tech Admissions
- Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
- Entrance Exam: Valid GATE or GPAT score.
- Selection Process: Admissions through COAP Counselling.
M.Sc Admissions
- Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
- Entrance Exam: IIT JAM.
- Selection Process: Admissions through CCMN Counselling.
Ph.D. Admissions
- Eligibility: Master’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
- Entrance Exam: GATE, UGC NET, or equivalent.
- Selection Process: Written test and/or interview conducted by the institute.
