The Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) initially had an enrollment of 50 undergraduate students (BDS); however, this number was later augmented to 100 by the Dental Council of India (DCI) in 2011. Recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, KIDS obtained approval from DCI to launch its postgraduate course (MDS) in eight specialties in 2014. Moreover, all nine specialties were approved starting in 2017. Because of these developments, KIDS has become a significant institution in dental education.
