The NTA AIAPGET 2026 information bulletin and application form are expected to be released in the first week of May 2026 on exams.nta.ac.in/AIAPGET, with a ~20-day application window. Admit cards are released a few days before the exam, and results follow within ~4-6 weeks.

By the end of this blog, you will know

  • Step-by-step details of the AIAPGET 2026 application process, eligibility criteria, and required documents.
  • The full exam schedule, admit card instructions, exam pattern, and syllabus structure.
  • Information about counselling rounds and how seats are allotted for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses.

What is the AIAPGET exam?

The AIAPGET is a national-level exam held annually for students who want to pursue postgraduate studies in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, or Unani. Organised by the NTA on behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, this computer-based exam serves as the sole entrance route for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in the AYUSH streams.

Candidates who meet the minimum qualifying percentile become eligible for admission through centralised counselling conducted by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC). Selections are purely merit-based, depending on the scores obtained in AIAPGET.

FAQs About AIAPGET Exam 2026

When is AIAPGET 2026 expected to be held?

AIAPGET 2026 is expected to be conducted by NTA in July 2026. The information bulletin and application form are expected to be released in the first week of May 2026 on exams.nta.ac.in/AIAPGET, with a ~20-day application window.

Can I request a change in my exam city after the admit card is issued?

No, once the city is allocated and the admit card is released, you cannot change the exam centre. Choose wisely during registration.

What should I do if my admit card shows incorrect personal details?

If you notice any mistakes like misspelled names or incorrect date of birth, contact the NTA helpline immediately and follow their guidance to get corrections done.

Is marking all questions advisable despite negative marking?

Skipping dubious questions is often better. Since each wrong answer costs one mark, leaving it blank avoids penalties and can improve your overall score.

Can I challenge more than one question in the provisional answer key?

Yes, you may challenge multiple questions; you'll need to pay ₹200 per question. If your challenge is accepted, the fee is refunded.

Will AIAPGET 2026 scores be valid for the next admission session?

No, AIAPGET 2026 scores are only valid for the 2026–27 academic year. You'll need to reapply if you're applying next year.

How are tie-breakers resolved if two candidates score equally?

In case of a tie, candidates are ranked based on their higher percentile in the exam, followed by a tie-break mechanism detailed by NTA, typically favouring higher marks in relevant subjects or older age.

I completed my internship in parts at different hospitals. Is that acceptable?

Yes. As long as you've finished one year of internship (in total) by 31 August 2026, it's acceptable, regardless of where it was completed.

What languages are question papers available in?

  • Ayurveda: English & Hindi
  • Unani: English & Urdu
  • Siddha: English & Tamil
  • Homeopathy: English only

If I don't attend counselling, will my seat be cancelled automatically?

Yes. If you miss the counselling registration or seat acceptance deadline, your seat offer will be forfeited.

Do I need to keep hard copies of my application and admit card?

Absolutely. Always download and keep printed versions of both your submitted application and admit card for future reference.

Are there any mock tests available for practice?

Yes, NTA often provides official mock tests closer to the exam date. You can also find reliable practice sets from reputed coaching institutes.

Can candidates with disabilities request extra time or special arrangements?

Yes, PwD candidates are eligible for compensatory time or a scribe, but they must indicate this in the application and carry the required certificates to the exam centre.

How many institutions participate in AACCC counselling?

Hundreds of AYUSH colleges participate in the All India Quota counselling, including government, private, and deemed universities across Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy.

Can I use AIAPGET 2026 scores for state quota admissions?

Yes, while AACCC handles All India Quota seats, many state authorities also accept AIAPGET scores for their own AYUSH PG admissions.
