BIBS College Kolkata was established in 2008 and offers postgraduate courses in management. The college is a part of the Edios Educational Society and is a private business school. Affiliated to Vidyasagar University in Midnapore, West Bengal, it has consistently been ranked as one of the top business schools in Kolkata.

Entrance Exams

For admission into BIBS College Kolkata, students must take one of the common entrance tests for postgraduate programmes in management. For BIBS Kolkata, they can take one of four exams:

1. CAT

The CAT (Common Admission Test) is a computer based exam that students interested in postgraduate programmes in management must take. The test consists of three sections: verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning and quantitative ability. The exam is held by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management).

2. MAT

The MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is a standardised test that is taken by students for postgraduate courses in management. Over 600 business schools in India consider the MAT score during the admission process. The MAT exams happen four times a year. The exam is facilitated by AIMA (All India Management Association).

3. XAT

The XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is held by XLRI Jamshedpur and takes place on the first Sunday of January. The subjects tested in this exam include verbal and logical ability, decision making, quantitative ability and data interpretation, general knowledge, and essay writing.

4. BIBSAT

For students who do not have a score in CAT/MAT/XAT exams, they must take BIBSAT (Bengal Institute of Business Studies Aptitude Test) and obtain a valid score. This test is taken by BIBS Kolkata.

The entrance exams and eligibility to apply for courses at BIBS College Kolkata are as follows:

1. MBA + PGP in Business Management (Postgraduate Level)

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject/ stream  with a minimum aggregate of 50%
• There is a relaxation of 5% in marks for students from SC/ ST categories
• Valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT/BIBSAT
• Students with work experience are preferred

2. MBA + PGP in Financial Management and Banking (Postgraduate Level)

•  Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject/ stream  with a minimum aggregate of 50%

• Valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT/BIBSAT
