Admissions to undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), located in Kolkata. The Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam (IEMJEE), which is administered by the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), is the basis for admission to the BTech programme at IEM Kolkata.
JEE Main is used in addition to IEMJEE for the selection of students for the BTech programme in IEM Kolkata. The selection process for MBA admission to IEM Kolkata is based on the results of the state-level MBA entrance exam, IEMJEE, CAT, and MAT. To be eligible for admission to IEM Kolkata MCA, candidates must appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Board's (WBJEEB) WB JECA.

IEM Kolkata offers undergraduate courses in the field of Engineering which leads to the award of the degree Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). The duration period of the B.Tech program is four years. IEM Kolkata also accepts a lateral entry in the B.Tech program for which the course duration is three years.
In addition to the Engineering programs, IEM Kolkata offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) at the undergraduate level. Both the UG programs are offered with the duration period of three years.
To be eligible for admission to the BBA and BCA programs, candidates should have scored at least 60% marks in Class XII and X. For the BCA program, candidates must have passed 10+2 level examination or equivalent examination with English and Mathematics / Computer Science/Computer.
The Institute offers a two-year full-Time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program which is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). In addition, IEM Kolkata offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program which is approved by AICTE.
The MBA program is offered with a duration period of two years whereas the PGDM program is of one year.
At the postgraduate level, Institute of Engineering & Management also offers Master of Science (M.Sc) degree program in the field of computer Science. The the duration of M.Sc program is two years.
For M.Sc CS, candidate needs to at least 55% marks in Graduation with Computer Science / Applied Physical Sciences / Mathematics / other allied subject under Statistical or Mathematical or Computing Sciences as one of the main subjects of study.
Admission to the M.Sc CS programme will be done through Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) or Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) or IEMJEE.
IEM Kolkata offers postgraduate program in the field of Engineering which awards the degree of M.Tech (Master of Technology). The M.Tech program is provided under three different specializations. Each of the specialization is offered with the duration period of two years.
Admission to the M.Tech program requires B.Tech./B.E. degree or equivalent in the respective or allied areas with exceptional academic record and a valid score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
