In recent years, IEM Kolkata has had a strong history of placement. Every year, a large number of students attend the placement drive and are recruited. In 2021 IEM Kolkata completed the placement drive. The batch of students that took part numbered 1016. Out of these 813 students found jobs which included 647 undergraduate-level ones and 166 postgraduate-level jobs which is an increase of about 14.7% from last year in the number of placements.
During IEM Kolkata Placements 2021, the median salary stood at INR 10.50 LPA for the Management students, INR 4.01 LPA for the UG Engineering batch & INR 3.60 LPA for the PG Engineering batch. Reputed recruiters like Capgemini, Infosys System Engineer, Wipro & TCS Digital, etc visited the campus during the 2021 placement drive
