About Odisha Scholarship 2024

The State Scholarship portal, which offers scholarship possibilities to students in the state, was launched by the State Government of Odisha. All students needing financial aid can access the portal as a comprehensive platform. The Odisha government is committed to creating an integrated scholarship portal providing over 20 scholarship programs on one platform. All available scholarships are open to students who fall under the categories of Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Other Backward Castes (OBC). The program includes postgraduate and school-level scholarships for students.

The ST & SC and MBC Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha is accepting online applications for the Odisha Post Matric Scholarship 2023–2024. The Odisha Post Matric Scholarship 2023–2024 online application period opened on August 18, 2023, and the deadline was extended to March 5, 2024.

Odisha Scholarship Portal - How to Apply

Kalia Scholarship

The Government of Odisha launched the Kalia scholarship program, which provides financial aid to Kalia Yojna students. The Odisha government launched this program to help farmers in the state with their financial problems, and the scholarship program's main beneficiaries are the farmers' children. It entitles the learners to seek technological and vocational courses. The students are the offspring of marginal farmers.

The Odisha government's Agriculture and FE Department is responsible for carrying out the Kalia Yojna and Kalia scholarship. Courses including Animal Husbandry, Agriculture and Allied Sciences, Hotel Management, Pharmacy, and a few more are included in this scholarship. This scholarship aims to make it easier for the offspring of small farmers, landless farmers, and agricultural cultivators to pursue higher education. Kalia Scholarship – Eligibility 

The following is a list of requirements to be eligible to apply for the scholarship:

  • The candidate has to live in Odisha permanently.
  • The applicant must be the KALIA Yojna beneficiary's kid.
  • He or she must have received an education from a state government university based on merit.
  • Applicants receiving funding from another scholarship are not eligible to apply.

E - Medhubruti

The Odisha government offers the merit-cum-means scholarship known as "Medhabruti 2024," which is part of the e-Medhabruti program. Initially established to provide financial assistance to deserving and impoverished students, Medhabruti inspires and propels learners to seek advanced education in general, technical, and professional domains. Students who are residents of Odisha and enrolled in classes 11 through post-graduation may apply for these scholarships. Under the e-Medhabruti scholarship program, 24,500 scholarships are awarded annually at a maximum of INR 10,000. 

Medhabruti - Eligibility

  • To be eligible for the Junior Merit Scholarship, the candidate must be enrolled in class 12 or Higher Secondary (+2). 
  • To be eligible for the Senior Merit Scholarship, a candidate must study +3 degree programs such as B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com. in addition to three-year programs like BBA, BCA, BJMC, etc. 
  • To be eligible for the PG Merit Scholarship, students must be enrolled in postgraduate studies leading to a degree in the humanities, sciences, commerce, or other non-professional fields. 

Biju Yuba Sashasktikaran Yojana (LAPTOP DBT)

LAPTOP DBT, also known as the Biju Yuba Sashasktikaran Yojana

General/ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC students in the state are eligible to apply for the Biju Yuba Sashaktikaran Yojana for ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/GENERAL/EBC Communities, Odisha 2023, which the Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha administers. The ₹30,000 in financial aid for laptop purchases will be given by the Government of Odisha to the chosen deserving students.

Eligibility 

  • A candidate needs to reside in Odisha.
  • Belong to the General, ST, SC, OBC, SEBC, or EBC community.
  • Have passed the science, arts, commerce, or vocational stream higher secondary examination (Class 12) administered by CHSE, Odisha, or the Upashastri Examination administered by Shree Jagannath Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya (SJSV) for the relevant year.

Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojna

The Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana, Odisha 2022–2023, is open to students seeking under-graduation and graduation as well as technical and professional courses from SAMS and Non-SAMS institutions (i.e., UGC/AICTE/MCI affiliated Universities/Management/Engineering and Technical institutions) within and outside the state of Odisha. Students in the General, OBC, SC/ST, SEBC/EBC, and means-tested categories will receive financial aid. The scholarship aims to motivate and inspire young people from Odisha to pursue higher education. The selected students would receive financial support of INR 20,000 each year. 

Eligibility

  1. An applicant needs to be a permanent citizen of Odisha to be eligible.
  2. Fall into any of the following family types:some text
    • Family members impacted by HIV/AIDS (mother, father, or both)

Vyasa Kabi Bruti Bhasa Mohan Fakir

The Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha has launched the Vyasakabi Fakirmohan Bhasabruti Scholarship, Odisha 2023–24, for students who belong to the General, ST, SC, OBC, SEBC, and EBC communities in the state. The program seeks to incentivize deserving individuals to pursue doctoral and undergraduate studies in Odia language education. The chosen applicants will get a ₹20,000 one-time financial award.

Eligibility  

  • A candidate needs to reside in Odisha
  • belong to one of the following groups: Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Socially and Economically Backward Classes, or Economically Backward Class

Scholarship for Junior Merit (Classes 11 and 12)

The Skill Development and Technical Education Department, under the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, is offering a Junior Merit Scholarship for ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/GENERAL/EBC Communities 2023–24. This opportunity is for students pursuing their higher education, i.e. Class 11 & 12, from one of the state's recognized institutions. With financial aid to help with school costs, the program seeks to support deserving Odisha Higher Secondary School students.
