Established in 2002, Chitkara University is situated in Chandigarh, Punjab. Courses in B.E, BCA, B.Arch, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc., B.A., B.Physio, B.Optom, B.Pharma, Pharm.D, BFA, and B.Des are available at the undergraduate level at the university. At the postgraduate level, Chitkara University provides M.E, M.Sc., MBA, MCA, M.Pharma, M.Physio, M.Optom, B.Ed., and M.A. courses. At the research level, the university also provides Ph.D. programmes in eight specialisations.
At the undergraduate level, Chitkara University provides B.Arch and B.E. in six specialisations.Applicants for the B.E. programme must have earned at least a 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics throughout their 10+2 coursework.
For the B.E. Lateral Entry, candidates with a three-year diploma are eligible to apply.Applicants for the B.Arch programme must have earned at least a 50% grade in mathematics and English during their 10+2 coursework.JEE Main marks will be used to determine admission to the B.E. programme. The NATA or JEE Main (Paper 2) scores will be used to determine admission to the B.Arch programme.
Chitkara University offers the BCA, BBA, B.Com, BFA, B.Des. and B.A. courses at the UG level. The B.Des. Course is offered in 3 specializations. The university also offers BCA-MCA integrated program to the candidates.Candidates who have completed 10+2 from any stream with 50% marks are eligible to apply for the BCA, BBA, B.Com. and Integrated MCA Courses. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the BFA, B.Des. and BA courses.
Admission to the BCA, BBA, B.Com, BFA, BA and BCA-MCA courses will be done on the basis of performance in the 10+2 examination and performance in the personal interview conducted by the University. Admission to B.Des Animation and Interior Design will be allotted on the basis of UCEED scores. Admission to B.Des Game Design and BFA will be given on the basis of CUDAT.
Chitkara University offers the B.Sc., B.Physiotherapy, B.Optometry, B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses at the UG level. The B.Sc. course is offered in 8 specializations.Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the B.Sc., B.Physiotherapy, B.Optometry, B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses. For B.Optometry, B.Physiotherapy and B.Sc. Nursing, candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects in 10+2 examination.
Admission to the B.Sc., B.Physiotherapy, B.Optometry, B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses will be done on the basis of merit in the 10+2 examination and based on performance in the personal interview conducted by the University. Admission to B.Sc. Animation and Interior Design will be given on the basis of CUDAT.
Chitkara University offers M.E. in four specializations, M.Sc. in three specializations, MBA in eleven specializations, MCA, M.Pharma, M.Physiotherapy, M.Optometry, B.Ed. and M.A. courses at the PG level.
For all the PG programs, candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree from a relevant field with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply.Admission to the MBA course will be done on the basis of scores in the CAT / XAT / NMAT / MAT / CMAT and performance in the group discussion and personal interview.
Admission to the remaining PG courses will be done on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance test and performance in personal interview, both of which will be conducted by the University.
Chitkara University also offers Ph.D. program in various disciplines at the doctorate level. Master’s degree in the related discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission.
Admission is granted on the basis of university-based entrance test followed by an interview. Candidates with a valid score in CAT for Business Management, GPAT for Pharmaceutical Sciences/ CSIR NET/ UGC NET or equivalent are exempted from the university-based entrance. Such candidates have to appear in the interview round only.
